Music Ministries
Discover the Music Ministries at Simi Valley UMC, where voices and instruments enrich worship. From our inspiring adult and children’s choirs to the uplifting sounds of our bell choirs, there’s a place for everyone to share their musical gifts. Join us for concerts, weekly worship, and the joy of music — all led by our dedicated directors.
Simi Valley UMC offers a wide range of music ministries under the direction of Lisa Wall-Urgero.
Vocal music from our adult choir can be heard most every Sunday in worship. Our children’s choir sings occasionally in worship, and the children from our CrossRoads Children’s Center sing in worship three times each year.
Our combined music ministries deliver Easter and Christmas concerts, both as afternoon and evening concerts, and as part of the worship services. The Winter concert is a benefit program for various local charitable groups. These glorious programs include musicians, soloists, and concert narrators — don’t miss them!
Our Bell Choirs, led by director Stu Thomson, provide musical worship frequently.
Bell choirs include adults, youth, and children’s choirs, and no prior experience is necessary. All of our music ministries are open to all, and we look forward to working with you!

The Ensemble is a “by invitation” group for experienced ringers. We also perform in other venues during the year.

The Adult Handbell Ensemble was formed in 2012 from members of the Adult Quartet and additional ringer from the Adult Handbell Choir.
We ring during church services and at public events. Our music is arranged for 12 bells (6 ringers) Current members are: Bridget Elliott, Dee Larkin Tingstrom, Lynne O’Hanlon, Judy Thomson and Luene Witman.
