We strive to live well-rounded lives and embody a faith that embraces all people. We strive to live and grow as individuals and as a church. We grow in our relationship with God and with one another through active ministry opportunities.
We are vital and growing. Come grow with us! There is a space for everyone to grow through bible studies, small groups, fellowship opportunities, and more.
1889 — 1913
The Founding of Simi Valley Community Church
A small group of settlers began worship in one of the original Colony homes on Second Street and Pacific Avenue, served by traveling ministers of various faiths for the first few years.
The building also served as the school, Sunday school, and social center for the small community of isolated, self-reliant pioneers. In 1911, with a popular full-time Methodist preacher now at the helm, the Colony house church overflowed with worshippers. A new church was built next to the Colony home and dedicated in 1913, and the Colony house next door was turned into a parsonage.

The roots of Methodism run deep in Simi Valley, beginning with a small group of believers during the valley's early settlement. Our church has always been more than a place of worship — it’s been a hub for community activities, growing alongside the development of Simi Valley itself.

I’ve counted Simi Valley United Methodist Church as my “church home” for 56 years now. People come and go, buildings change, new pastors bring new ideas — yet the durable constant is the presence of God and Jesus Christ in the lives and stories of each of our members and friends. Whether through Sunday morning worship, Bible studies, fellowship and service groups, or other ministries of the Church, there is a place for you and your story, to find Christ in that story, and to live our lives as Christ calls us to do. I look forward to seeing and meeting you soon!
