Children’s Ministries
At Simi Valley UMC, children are a vital part of our beloved community. We nurture their natural wonder and faith through small groups, music, and activities. Join us as we grow in faith together!
Children are born with an innate sense of wonder and faith that is real and authentic. Our role is to provide a foundation of experiences on which children build a life of learning and growth toward a mature and vital faith.
We hope your family will join us as we grow in faith together. We have many opportunities for children to participate in faith formation through small group educational opportunities, music ministries, and intergenerational activities.

Sunday Mornings
Sunday School
Sunday school classes are offered in the Education buildings for Pre-K through 5th grade.
Children begin by attending the worship service with their families every Sunday for the first 15 minutes so they might participate within corporate worship. Then they will gather together in the Fireside Room for a large group opening and praise time. After the opening, they will divide into age-appropriate groups for lessons and activities.

Faith in Action
Faith is more than a belief, it is an action. Occasionally, all Sunday School children gather together as one class for a hands-on service project.
Projects vary from crafty outreach such as making Christmas Cards for shut-ins to community-focused projects like gathering and donating school supplies for local students. This is an opportunity for children to reach out into their community and their world with grace and love.
Cherub and Children’s Choir
Our children’s vocal choir groups rehearse following worship.
Cherub Choir (for children in Prek-1st grade) rehearse in Room 5. Children’s Choir (for children 2nd –5th grade) rehearse in the Fireside Room. Both choirs sing regularly in Sunday worship as well as participating in special musical events and singing at the Family Christmas Eve service.

Kidz Bells Choir, For Children in 3rd – 5th Grade

Chapel
This choir focuses on basic skills, including learning to read music, learning to play as a group, and learning the basic techniques of how to ring. Children 3rd - 5th grade are welcome to participate.

Fireside Room
Thursday Night Live! is for all children TK – 5th grade. Join us in the Fireside Room for crafts, games, friends, and fun!

Parents Night Out
Parents’ Night Out is part of our children’s and family ministries, providing a safe place for the children to be together, and a welcome respite for parents to enjoy some time out together. Activities for the kids include snacks, outdoor play, faith-based stories, crafts, and more!
