Linda Etter, Barbara Brown, Barbara Witman, and Diane Garrison traveled to Springfield, Missouri the week of October 11 to build a house with other Habitat for Humanity volunteers. Feeding ChurchDinner is served to the hungry every Saturday evening, starting at 5 p.m., in Witman Hall. To help with this ministry, contact the church office. P.A.D.SPublic Action to Deliver Shelter. We house the homeless overnight on Saturdays, November 1 through March 31, through this local church-sponsored program. Care and ShareCare & Share provides food items for those needing groceries. A box in the narthex receives your non-perishable donations. You can contact Care & Share at 805-522-5676. Cancelled StampsProfits are used to send needed supplies to missionaries. Remember, before throwing away your envelopes, tear or cut off the cancelled stamp (1/4" on each side) and place them in the box in the Narthex. Both domestic and foreign stamps are used for this ministry. Homeless Task ForceIn 1999, the Simi Valley City Council appointed a 19-member Task Force on Homelessness comprised of representatives from City, County, non-profit organizations, and the community-at-large to study the issue of homelessness. The Task Force guidelines include, in part, gathering information on the agencies that are providing services to the homeless and how the homeless may access these services.
